We define the term „BugFix“ as the fix of minor software bugs found after the release of a new software version. A Bugfix is indicated by the change of the last (fourth) digit of the version number. An „Update“ also includes, in difference to a Bugfix, functional improvements or extensions. Updates are indicated by the change of the third digit of the version number. Larger milestones („Releases“) are marked by the change of the first two digits of the version number.
