HiBatch™ Recipe Control and Administration

Reproducibility and clear documentation of an experimental process are the conditions for increased quality and shortening of development times. The basis for this is the automation of the procedure even in the development laboratory.

The recipe module HiBatch™, available as extension to HiText™, enables the creation of recipe flow diagrams by linking unit operations with the help of a graphical recipe editor. HiBatch™ is even simpler to handle than HiText™. Even complex recipe flow dia­grams can be created to IEC and NAMUR norms in clear form with minimum time expenditure.

By clicking an operation in the flow diagram you open the appropriate dialog form, in order to input para­meters and values such as quantities and times. So the recipe module is the ideal tool for automating frequently changing tasks with minimal effort. With a unit operation library to the NAMUR standard, application of the recipe control program HiBatch™ gives you a number of further advantages:

  • Recipe creation without programming knowledge in minimum time
  • More time for qualified base activities from more efficient work methods
  • Automatic experiment control, also over night and at the weekend
  • Changing of program parameters and the  procedure even possible during runtime
  • Optimal documentation by complete recording of measurement data, procedures, events and manual intrusion
  • Simplified and safe transfer of the EMSR-Know-How from the lab to pilot plant and the production stage
  • Supports the GLP and GMP suited methods

A unit operation can be used several times, also parallel or at the same time. The process plan is checked and executed automatically. The active steps are colour indicated and freely selectable control values are displayed directly in the flow diagram.

Whole experiment series can be run automatically in series on one reactor or parallel on multiple reactors. The relevant parameters such as quantities, times, temperatures etc. are entered into the screens, that open after clicking a step. The input parameters are checked with freely definable plausibility criteria and if necessary, corrected. The parameter sets can be saved for further future use.

Also for running recipe process control, you can still change the parameters and temporarily interrupt the process at any time, e.g. for manual actions. Thanks to the open programming in HiText™ the system can be added to without problems using preloaded and saved functionalities, e.g. a scaling function for the basis recipe, automatic parameterisation of whole series of experiments, automated evaluation, or administration of the parameters and results.

In the multi-plotter, events, values, and process phases are consistently presented.

A batch protocol with all events, operator interventions, value changes etc. is automatically established. This guarantees an optimal reproducibility of the process even after manual interventions.

You can write your own basic operations with HiText™ or make use of the basic operations library (SL-GOPBIB). For the establishment of special  basic operations you may call upon our respective services offered.

The electronic laboratory journal eJournal™ and the laboratory information management system HiLIMS™ complete HiBatch™. They create a consitent process chain from the contract to the control of the complete R&D process to the final report.

For parallel reactor systems there is an extension called MultiBatch.
