Tube Pressure Sensor

Tube Pressure Sensor

Contactless & versatile

Tube pressure measurement for sterile applications

Pressure measurements are essential in order to detect blockages in filters or pumps in process engineering systems in good time and thus prevent system failures or damage to equipment.

Our tube pressure sensor measures the pressure or differential pressure in standard hoses (for chemical, bio or pharmaceutical applications) without media contact. It is therefore particularly suitable for pressure measurement (e.g. for filter monitoring) in biotechnical, sterile processes. No installation parts are required in the tube. The system can be sterilized as usual and the tube is simply inserted into the sensor after sterilization. The innovative measuring principle is protected by law.

With its analog interface (4...20 mA), the sensor can be integrated into almost any process control system (e.g. LabManager, LabBox, LabVision software) or connected to analog displays. The sensor itself does not have a display.

Due to the measuring principle, the specification is heavily dependent on the hose properties (diameter, wall thickness, material). The values given below should therefore only be regarded as guidelines.  Larger deviations may occur, particularly with thin hoses and large wall thicknesses. In practice, with careful calibration, significantly better specifications are usually achieved for hose diameters from 10 mm.
For the use of our tube pressure sensor, we recommend hoses with a Shore A hardness < 70.

Insert the hose, close it and off you go: Simply attach the pressure sensor to hoses with a diameter of between 4.8 and 19.1 mm, but we are also happy to supply non-standard sizes on request.
