Shorter product life cycles require innovations in plant engineering. Although modular design has proven to reduce costs, its widespread use has so far failed due to a lack of compatibility<\/strong> between control systems from different manufacturers.<\/p>\n

The Module Type Package (MTP)<\/strong> can be the solution to this problem.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

But what exactly is MTP?<\/h3>\n

\ud83d\udd0c Plug and Produce<\/strong>:
MTP is a standardized interface that allows modules to be installed regardless of their origin. Put simply, MTP allows us to summarize information in the form of assembly instructions that enable the recipient to get started right away.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcad Complete Communication:<\/strong>:
In detail, it simplifies communication between the modules, called PEA (Process Equipment Assembly), and the process control level, called POL (Process Orchestration Layer). The MTP file contains the services provided by the PEA, operating screens, signals to and from the modules, and alarm messages from the PEA.<\/p>\n

As part of the Reunion research project, we recently assembled a fully automated MTP system and see great potential in this form of modular plant engineering<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For the first time, MTP is running directly on three interconnected LabBoxes<\/a>.<\/p>\n
