Example 1: Cell Culture Robot
Cell Culture technique
Using various handling tools and various media with both medium cooling and medium supply, different possibilities are provided for the parallel treatment of 6-, 24-, 96-well MTP (microtiter plate) formats.
The handling of various pipette tips (250 μl, 1.000 μl, 5.000 μl) and a MTP tilting device or vessel covers is achieved through various tools with the aid of a tool changer.
The refilling of the media feed tanks is regulated by a fill level monitoring system.
Properties and Functions
- Hot-sterilisable (24 h at 90 °C)
- Compact construction, incubator operation
- Detection of liquid surfaces
- Simultaneous handling also of various formats of microtiter plates
Example 2: Robot for Formulations
Liquids, solids and melts can be filled into vessels with the formulation and filling system featuring freely programmable mixing ratios.
1-to-n and N-to-n processes are possible, e.g. any mixing ratios from 100 sample vessels to 200 target vessels.
The volume of the sample and the target vessels depends on the application.
Properties and Functions
- Mixing of up to 12 components
- Individual stirring function for all items
- Integrated gravimetric melt dosing
Example 3: Synthesis Robot
High Throughput Synthesis
The SciBot™ takes care of pipetting, stirring, dispersing, pH value regulation, preparing of microscope slides
Properties and Functions
- Multi-tiered 64‐fold parallel synthesis
- Free choice of vessel size
- Pipetting, stirring, dispersing, pH value regulation, preparing of microscope slides
Example 4: Robot in laboratory reactor system
Example 5: Robot for Cell Culture
The liquid handling unit is suited for use in a sterile environment, for example under a laminar flow cabinet.
Valves for the drawing in of various media and the tilting station are operated mechanically via the robot arm, ensuring that no additional electronics are used here. Thus the probability of a system breakdown is reduced.
Various sizes of pipette tips (250 μl, 1.000 μl, 5.000 μl) from different manufacturers can be used via a tool changer.
The completely flat work surface can be particularly easily cleaned. The attachments are fixed by magnets, eliminating the mounting elements which are otherwise needed (pat. pending).
Clean-room classified axes may be fitted as an option (class 3 in accordance with ISO 14644-1).
The MTP tilting device enables an almost residue-free siphoning off of the wells. The tilting device is passive and is operated by a robot arm.
Even complex processes and liquid handling sequences can be easily and manageably carried out using table-based hteMaster™ sequence control and the comprehensive method library for cell culture applications.
A temperature control block enables vessels and tubes to be heated and cooled. The vessels may be automatically refilled on a sterile basis from large-volume feeds as an option.
During this, the fill level is recorded without any contact by an ultrasonic sensor (pat. pending).
