The digital output slide-in module is required to switch valves, reflux separators, heaters, contactors etc. directly via the LabManager.
The pulse width modulated output enables quasi-continuous, direct control of heaters, motor control valves etc. This eliminates the need for additional expensive control electronics
Pulse area modulation is an extended pulse frequency modulation (XPFM) that minimizes the number of pulses and thus protects the actuator (e.g. a solenoid valve or reflux separator).
